Brief info
I began my karate journey at the age of 7, training in Shotokan karate in Upper Hutt. By my early teens, I was part of the Junior New Zealand Karate Team, competing at a national and international level. My competitive highlights include winning the 2001 Kobe Osaka World Cup in Malaysia and securing 3rd place at the 2002 Kobe Osaka World Cup in Germany.
After stepping away from karate for a few years, I developed my martial arts skills further during my 5 years in the army, where I trained in close-quarter combat (CQB). In 2023, I reignited my passion for karate, joining the Goju Ryu style.
In late 2025 I successfully graded to 2nd Dan in Karate.
In early 2026 I competed in the World Kobudo Championship in Okinawa, Japan, placing 3rd in Bo and Sai. Additionally, completing my successfully grading to 2nd Dan in Kobudo in Okinawa, Japan.
I am proud to share my knowledge and experience with the next generation of karate practitioners and look forward to continuing my journey within the dojo.
